March 4 – John 14:6

Jesus answered, “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.”

John 14:6

Our culture is big on being politically correct. Make sure you say the right thing so as to not offend anyone. It’s interesting here in John 14, that Jesus says, “I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.” It seems like Jesus could have been more politically correct if he’d said, “I KNOW the way” or “I’ll SHOW you the way.” But Jesus is not speaking about what he does, he is speaking about who he is – “I AM the way.” The Bible tells us that God does not have the truth, He IS truth. This is one of God’s promises to us – that He sent His son, Jesus, the living, walking truth!

Some historians like to lump Jesus together with Buddha, Muhammad, and other religious figures, but Jesus refuses to be grouped with these guys. We can be confident in God’s promise – that His son, Jesus, is the way, the truth and the life. In Acts 4:12, Jesus’ disciple, Peter, says, “There is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given to mankind by which we must be saved.”

Believe in yourself? No. Believe in your pastor? No. Believe in that political leader you voted for? No. Believe in Jesus? YES!

In a world full of lies, conspiracy theories and false promises, it’s hard to know who to trust. But hear this good news – you can trust Jesus!
